Composite Roofing, Explained

The Look Of Slate And Cedar, Built For Ozarks Weather

Synthetic roofing (also called composite roofing) is molded from rubber or polymer into shakes, slates and tiles that carry the deep shadow lines and rough texture of the real thing. The color runs all the way through, so there is no coating to peel and no stone to crack.

It is the roof we recommend when a homeowner wants a true luxury look on a steep roof, plans to stay put, and is tired of replacing shingles after every big hail year. You get a roof that suits a stone, brick or Tudor home and stands up to the storms we get here.

One Of Our Synthetic Slate Roofs, Start To Finish

Drag the slider to watch this one come together. Our crew tore the old roof down to the deck, replaced the soft boards, set new skylights, laid fresh underlayment, and finished every hip, valley and dormer in a blended gray synthetic slate. This is what a luxury roof replacement with Titan looks like.

Hail Season Is Part Of Living Here

The Springfield area sees hail on roughly 48 days a year, which puts us among the most storm-active parts of the country. Standard shingles bruise, crack and shed granules every time. A Class 4 synthetic roof is built to take those hits and keep its looks, so you are not filing a claim and replacing your roof every few years.

Insurance

Class 4 Roofs And Your Insurance

Many insurers in Missouri offer a lower premium for a Class 4 impact-rated roof, but there is no state rule that requires it, and every carrier writes its own terms. Some policies even leave out certain synthetic materials from their discount. Before you choose a product, call your agent and ask what your policy rewards. We are glad to help you sort out the answer.

When the job is done, we hand you the paperwork your insurer will ask for: the product name, its UL 2218 Class 4 rating, and the installation date. That makes the discount conversation with your agent a short one.

How The Job Goes

How We Install A Synthetic Roof

It starts with a free inspection. We measure the roof, check the decking and attic ventilation, and talk through the look you want. Then we compare shake, slate and tile options from EuroShield, Brava and DaVinci side by side, with real samples you can hold up against your brick or stone. If your HOA needs to approve the roof, we give you the samples and spec sheets to submit.

On install day our crew protects your landscaping, tears the old roof down to the deck, and replaces any soft boards we find. We install the underlayment, flashing and fasteners each manufacturer calls for, because following their spec is what keeps your warranty whole. Before we leave, we clean up, haul away the old roof, and walk the finished job with you.

Synthetic slate and shake cost more than shingles and less than real slate. Most installed jobs land around $900 to $1,500 per square (100 square feet of roof), depending on the brand, the profile, and how steep and cut-up your roof is. We measure your roof at a free inspection and give you an exact, line-by-line price. Financing is available.
